North of Ordinary Media is thrilled to be the recipient of five awards and one merit from the International Regional Magazine Association (IRMA).
Karen McColl, YNoO editor, and Manu Keggenhoff, art director, attended the 42nd annual International Regional Magazine Association awards in Ottawa earlier this week. They received the following recognitions in the circulation under 35,000 category, on behalf of YNoO and the nominated contributors:

  • GOLD, general feature: “Hands-on hunting in -40C” by Rhiannon Russell (Spring 2021 issue).
  • GOLD, photographer of the year: Peter Mather.
  • BRONZE, writer of the year: Rhiannon Russell.
  • BRONZE, nature and environment feature: “Nocturnal in the land of the midnight sun” by Rhiannon Russell (Winter 2021 issue).
  • BRONZE, photo series: “City of Foxes” by Peter Mather (Summer 2021 issue).
  • MERIT, portrait photo: “Garbage Truck Santa” by GBP Creative (Winter 2021 issue).

The strength of YNoO relies wholly on the strength of our contributors and we are pleased to see them recognized by IRMA.
